Purpose

Guiding your path to greatness

Purpose

First of all, let’s define purpose in my own terms

Purpose is what drives you out of bed when you feel like shit

Murilo

Purpose will allow you to do things when you thought you couldn’t.

But how do you find your purpose? And most importantly how do I know my purpose is worthwhile?

While I am still figuring out both of these answers, my current purpose is to be able to sustain my family

I want to be the main breadwinner of my house to support my family financially.

My parents sacrificed everything they had so I can have a better chance in life.

So I owe everything to them.

That is my purpose.

That is what drives me out of bed.

That is what I live for.

But why purpose?

You might be wondering why I need a purpose.

You don’t.

I don’t need a purpose, but it helps me be conscious about my decisions

So when I realized this, I got to considering where I want to be in life.

The easiest way I learned to do this is:

  1. Define what you don’t want to be in life

  2. Do the opposite of what you don’t want to be.

You can’t get to your destination if you don’t know where to go.

That is why purpose is important.

PS: Comment banana if you read this far.

How to find your purpose:

However, how will I feel once that goal is reached?

I am doing everything I can to make that goal achieved in the shortest timeframe possible

But this is why I need something more significant, I need another goal

I need another fire that burns my bed every morning for me to get up.

So here is the framework I used to find my purpose

  1. Pick a problem you want to solve in your life

    • Fapping

    • Retiring your parents

    • Addiction to drugs

    • Shit sleep

    • Building a good body

    • Having a better diet

    • Studying for tests

  2. Solve it for yourself

  3. Share how you solved it with others

Currently, I have a couple of problems that I may want to help people solve,

But, I haven’t been able to pick one problem that I have solved and double down to help others solve it as well.

But the problem you solve must also be specific enough to apply to others, but not too specific that it can’t be applied to anyone else but you.

Actionable step:

  1. Define what you are good at

  2. Define what you want to be good at

Journal intensively about the topics you want to be good at and the topics that you are already better at than average.

Eventually, you will come down to a conclusion.

Boom you’ve got a purpose.

Until you achieved it and then you will have to repeat this process again 😅

That’s all humans do get a problem, solve the problem, and repeat.

How do I know it’s worthwhile?

You don’t.

Maybe you do.

I know I don’t (at least not yet).

Just like in dating, you don’t know if that person is for you,

Until you get to know them

If they are, then they’ll stay with you, if they are not then we part ways

There is only one way to find out, and that is by discovery and action.

The same applies to purpose.

Good luck with your purpose soldier

Have a great rest of your week
