I failed on Day 5

Here is what I learned on the 75 hard challenge

No this is not about NoFap (although I am working on that)

I failed on Day 5 for the 75 hard challenge

The challenge has 4 rules:

  1. No junk food

  2. Gallon of water

  3. Two 45-minute workouts

  4. Read 10 pages of an entrepreneurial book

In the first five days, it wasn’t hard I was able to manage these four rules

I started the challenge on a Sunday, but, my routine changed drastically from Sunday to Friday

I work two jobs currently, but only one of them was a threat to this challenge

My second job is not a threat because it is online so I can work at any time of the day

But the other job requires me to be at work from a set time, which makes it harder for me to do things like drinking a gallon of water

This is what ultimately lead to me failing the challenge

What did I learn:

There were a couple of problems with my approach, and then problems with my execution

Approach:

Timing:

I need to be hitting one workout before school starts (yes I am still in high school), and then one after school

Usually, my first workout will be weight training and the second one will be cardio

If I miss the first one (let’s say I woke up late) my chances of failing increase significantly

If I succeed in this challenge, I need to hit one workout before going to school

Procrastination:

Since I still have schoolwork, I need to get this done ASAP so it doesn’t get in the way of my challenge

I allowed procrastination to come through and fuck up my time

I was scrolling through Instagram

I deleted it now but holy shit it fucked my schedule up

In fact, on my last successful day, I went to bed at 2:00 am and woke up at 7:00 am.

5 hours of sleep = not enough sleep

School starts at 8:00 am so I wasn’t able to hit that morning workout, which led to my failure

So I can’t allow myself to sleep late otherwise my chances of keeping the challenge alive drops

BPAs:

The current bottle of water that I have holds up to 128oz which is one gallon

But there is one big problem

It is a plastic water bottle

Inevitably it could contain a lot of BPA in it 

So I will be buying a stainless steel gallon water bottle ($60 on Amazon)

It also includes a cleaner which I thought was cool
