Consistency

My Game-Changing Habits to unleash my true potential

Murilo Mondays #9

Good Morning Soldiers,

Everything you do compounds.

Shit will compound whether you like it or not.

So you better ensure that it compounds good shit.

These are some shits that I’ve compounded for a while.

  1. Reading (1 year+)

I have not read much lately I believe it has played immensely into some of the success I have been getting lately

Pick up a book that you are cuirous about.

You want to create consistency here.

So I recommend reading as little as five pages every day.

If a book is boring.

Do not force yourself to read it.

Pick up a new one.

Hit up your local library if you can't buy books yet.

  1. Working out (2 year+)

Any form of working out is better than not working out at all

It doesn’t matter what it is.

Although I tend to prefer weight lifting and cardio I still believe that things like yoga, pilates, martial arts, etc.

The most important thing is to start, not how you start.

But a lot of people are scared to start because they are afraid of

One psychological concept that has helped me is the Spotlight effect

There was a study where people with embarrassing shirts would walk around.

People thought that 50% of all people that saw the shirt noticed it

But only 25% did.

We clearly tend to overestimate how many people really give a fuck.

Don’t wait to start.

Start and wait.

This made me a free person to suck at new things

Despite knowing I would be shit.

  1. Talking to New People (idk bro)

I’ll be honest with you

I haven’t done much lately

But I have worked on how introverted I am over the years

For example, this is a pic of me in a scholarship ceremony I won

In the event, a pretty girl sat right next to me

I started talking to her, it went smooth af.

It felt like we had known each other for years

That’s how your convos should go.

You have to take the first step in the conversation.

People will feel your outgoing energy and they'll match it.

You will suck in the beginning but practice makes progress.

  1. Journaling (3 years+)

I have been journaling since 2020 now.

Consistently only for a year.

It has helped me to improve my mindset as well as my mental clarity.

In the beginning, I would journal what I was grateful for + one sentence of the most story-worthy moment from my day - (Matthew Dicks created this concept)

Now I average a page a day.

Over the last week, I've averaged about 2-3 pages.

The more you write, the more you will feel like writing.

All these habits will compound over and over and over and over again.

Assuming you do, your life will improve.

Have a good week soldiers.

See you on the battlefield.
